Audiences at the King’s Theatre in Edinburgh are in for a very special treat this Christmas as they join pantomime favourites Allan Stewart and Grant Stott in a spectacular and unmissable production of Robinson Crusoe and the Caribbean Pirates.
With thrilling sword fights, hilarious comedy, a shipwreck, a sea monster and a beautiful mermaid, this action-packed adventure is the hottest ticket in pantoland.
King’s panto stalwart Allan Stewart returns to the theatre this year as Mrs. Crusoe, while radio and television presenter Grant Stott plays the evil Pirate. Back by popular demand, Johnny Mac leads the adventure as Robinson Crusoe along with the talents of another of our Scottish regulars Jo Freer as the Mermaid and the hilarious Charlie Cairoli as The Captain, who is back in the Edinburgh panto for the first time in six years.
This year we have a King’s new-comer joining the team. After an extensive search and many auditions we are delighted to introduce Moyo Omoniyi as Girl Friday. You will not only be dazzled by her presence but amazed with her talent.
Staged by Qdos Entertainment, the world’s largest pantomime producer, and written and directed by Paul Elliott, who has staged the last seven years at the King’s, Robinson Crusoe and the Caribbean Pirates will feature an abundance of comedy, flamboyant costumes and stunning sets – a magical combination for a trip to the theatre this Christmas! Following last year’s record-breaking production of Aladdin, tickets are already flying out of the box office door for this year’s swashbuckling adventure so book early to avoid disappointment.
Robinson Crusoe and the Caribbean Pirates runs at the King’s Theatre, Edinburgh from Saturday 28 November 2008 to Sunday 17 January 2009. Visit our website www.eft.co.uk or call 0131 529 6000 for performance times and prices.
