A local tourism group in Oban, one of Argyll’s most popular tourist destinations on the west coast of Scotland, has published a list of the town’s Hogmanay events on it’s website www.oban.org.uk. The published events are an excellent reminder of what Oban can offer visitors and local residents during the New Year season and comes after the recent cancellation of Oban Hogmanay Street Party.
The Oban & Lorn Tourism Association (OLTA) is raising awareness of Oban as a fantastic destination to spend Hogmanay, with or without the street party. The list of events includes details of live music, ceilidhs, hotel events, parties and special dinners that will take place at OLTA member venues in and around Oban.
A spokesperson for the OLTA said: “The events on the list we have pulled together each offer something different. Whether it’s a live rock band in an Irish Pub, top quality traditional Scottish music acts, a Hogmanay dinner & ceilidh or even a disco, Oban will provide visitors with a warm welcome and a fantastic night out. There are also events happening on the evening of New Year’s Day throughout the town. This combined with Oban’s spectacular scenery and relaxing atmosphere makes this town the perfect break away after a busy festive season.”
