Leading technology integrator SCC has confirmed that it has been awarded Authorised Reseller Accreditation status by Apple.
The award, which will see Europe’s largest independent technology group offer the full range of Apple products to its extensive portfolio of business clients, recognises the company's proven expertise in helping organisations prepare for and integrate extensive IT consumerisation programmes. Reflecting the growing prominence of products like the iPad in the corporate workspace, the move underlines the company's commitment to provide a comprehensive service offering to the evolving business market.
“We know UK businesses are ready to do more than just talk about the consumerisation of IT because it’s on the agenda of every CIO we speak to. A new generation of business users want to work using the same devices they have in their homes, and this development reflects our determination to deliver the full range of technologies and services that, while not traditionally considered part of the commercial computing landscape, are increasingly what customers want,” said Rhys Sharp, SCC’s Chief Technology Officer.
SCC regards lower cost, consumer-grade technology as representing an unavoidable challenge for the CIO, but also as a real opportunity if savvy choices are made about where and when to enable and support its deployment. Many organisations have received requests for the use of iPads or similar from employees wishing to use such devices and adoption is accelerating quickly, creating an environment in which people and IT are combining to enable work and play from anywhere at any time.
Andy Wright, SCC's Director of Vendor Alliances, added: “Exciting technologies such as those from Apple are part of our everyday life and SCC is committed to working closely with customers to help them create competitive advantage from these emerging new platforms and solutions. With 36 years’ experience of analysing new solutions, mastering their implementation and delivering commercial benefits, SCC is confident it has mapped out the right path to take organisations profitably into the future.”
