Recognising excellence and achievement in the food and drink industry, the Awards are supported by Highlands and Islands Enterprise. As well as the Restaurant of the Year, other award categories recognise healthier food and drink, innovation, new products, new businesses, and businesses working in collaboration with each other. With strong competition amid a larger entry field than previous years, the shortlisted businesses and organisations demonstrate the top quality produce available across the area.
Quintin Stevens, co-chair of the Highlands & Islands Food & Drink Awards, said: “The restaurants shortlisted for the Restaurant of the Year have all shown that quality is the focus of their business. To have been shortlisted for the Award is already a fantastic achievement. The excellent produce and service available from these establishments is evidence of the quality standards being achieved by the Highland and Islands food and drink industry today.”
Iain Sutherland, Senior Development Manager for Food and Drink at Highlands and Islands Enterprise said: “HIE is delighted to support these awards which each year celebrate the range of amazing individual people, businesses and products found across the region. The restaurant category, the last shortlist to be revealed before the event, is a great favourite with the wider public as it highlights the choice and quality of eating places available to visitors and locals alike.”
