An award-winning digital agency is running a competition to offer business leaders in Glasgow the opportunity to become masters in social media.
Hillington-based company NSDesign is giving away two free places to its Social Media Masterclass, which is being held at Hillington Park Innovation Centre on Friday December 9th.
In order to win a place, businesses must be able to explain – in less than 140 characters using Twitter – why they would like to be there.
The challenge has been set by NSDesign’s Managing Director, Gary Ennis. He said: “We hope the competition will get people thinking about how to use social media for business, and encourage them to actually get online and start using it if they are not already.”
To be in with a chance of winning a free place, businesses must simply send a tweet to @nsdesign explaining why they would like to attend. Gary and the team will be looking for the most compelling statement and will award the two places accordingly.
The Social Media Masterclass will be led by Ennis, alongside radio presenter and technology expert Colin Kelly. The day-long session will provide attendees with information and guidance about social media to ensure they can reap the rewards that are on offer.
NSDesign launched its Masterclass series in response to positive feedback from business owners about its Embrace the Space workshops – a series that the business has run in partnership with Business Gateway.
Over the past 18 months, NSDesign has reached out to over 1500 businesses through the Embrace the Space programme.
Gary continued: “The positive feedback we have received from our workshops showed the level of interest that exists about social media amongst businesses in the local area.
“Much of the emphasis in the feedback was on the need for more advanced training, and that is the rationale behind our Masterclass series. Businesses are looking to take full advantage of the real benefits that social networking can bring when it is implemented correctly, and with the right strategy and we hope our classes will be both beneficial and popular.”
