Aberdeen-based Prodrill Energy Resource Solutions, today (Thursday, May 10, 2012) announces the appointment of Duncan Weir as a new non-executive director of the company.
Duncan is well placed to join the company, having previously held the role of managing director at Diamond Offshore’s principal Dutch subsidiary in The Hague, where he was responsible for contracting the company’s fleet of mobile offshore drilling units internationally. He has a wealth of 30 years experience in the global oil and gas drilling sector, is a chartered engineer and a fellow of the Royal Institution of Naval Architects, as well as holding 12 years experience in rig and ship design and construction.
Duncan now runs his own consultancy firm, Weir International Ltd, which specialises in oil and gas drilling, design and construction of ship and marine structures, as well as providing consultancy on associated renewable energy.
