Stirling graduate Jodie Hughes won third prize in the prestigious Santander Awards held at the Royal Opera House in London on July 4.
Jodie, who set up her own business Adspad while an undergraduate at the University, was presented with a cheque for £1,000 by Ana Botin, CEO of Santander UK.
Jodie is delighted to have won the prize: “I was really happy when my name was announced. I just wanted to win a prize because the money will be good for my company and I wanted the University of Stirling to be noticed. I think Stirling is a great university and I really appreciate that they nominated me for this Award.
“I will use the prize money to improve Adspad’s website.”
Ana Botín said: “Santander is delighted to name Jodie Hughes from the University of Stirling as a winner of our Santander Universities Entrepreneurship Awards. Entrepreneurs are the lifeblood of our economy and the creativity and commercial acumen demonstrated here have been extremely encouraging. These students are the future of the UK economy and Santander Universities is proud to be able to lend its support.”
