TO celebrate the launch of Ellie Goulding’s second album, Halcyon, Polydor Records and retailer HMV are partnering to give the singer’s fans the rare opportunity to vote via an innovative social media campaign to decide the location of the HMV store in which Ellie will officially launch her new release with an exclusive instore personal appearance.
The online competition launches as an App via both Ellie and HMV’s Facebook pages from 27th August and will run for two weeks. The HMV store that receives the most votes from fans – and it could be any of HMV’s 235 stores around the UK & Ireland, will have the privilege of hosting the official album launch, featuring a live performance and signing with Ellie on the day of release, Monday 8th October.
A former BBC Sound Poll short-listed artist and Brit Awards Critics Choice winner, Ellie’s debut album Lights entered the Official UK Charts at No.1 and to date has sold in excess of 850,000 copies. In the U.S. it reached number 2 on the Billboard Hot 100 and to date has been certified double platinum.
