Spike would like to wish a reporter at The Scotsman good luck in the first round today of the Scottish Indoor Tennis Championships.
With Scottish tennis on a high – following the exploits of Andy Murray, Alan Mackin, et al – it’s probably an impressive feat to be playing in the championships at all.

Tournament favourite is Colin Fleming, erstwhile doubles partner of Andy Murray’s brother, Jamie.
The championships are taking place at Scotstoun, Glasgow. The final is on Sunday.
