Pincer Movement Whipping up Media Storm

Poor old Scottish Enterprise must be wondering what has hit it in the past couple of weeks. Perhaps they thought the suspension of two senior executives would go largely unnoticed by the media and the Scottish Government.

Firstly, the suspensions, of Charlene O’Connor and Isobel Brown, were revealed by Robbie Dinwoodie in The Herald and came after allegations that training contracts had been improperly awarded and proper procurement protocols hadn’t been followed.

Immediately, the two very aggrieved ladies engaged the service of Lindsay McGarvie and Ken Symon at McGarvie Morrison Media.

Simultaneously, one of the firms named in the allegations, Implement Consulting, hired ‘rottweiler-in-chief’ at Media House, Jack Irvine.

Now, a deluge of counter allegations has fallen on Scottish Enterprise and there can’t be a business editor or Government minister in the country who hasn’t received multiple briefings from McGarvie, Symon and Irvine in the last two weeks.
