TV Doc Takes Amnesty Award

A television documentary about a refugee family from Africa, who had settled in a housing estate in Lanarkshire, is the latest winner of media awards hosted by the Scottish division of human rights organisation, Amnesty International.

‘Congo to Motherwell’ – by Fiona Walker and broadcast on BBC Scotland in August – was described by Amnesty as “carefully [balancing] the local and the global, to highlight the links between human rights abuses and asylum”.
